Dana Olson did her student teaching at McCallum, so she is not entirely new to the school but she will now be teaching English full-time here! She is looking forward to teaching The Alchemist and Crime and Punishment this year.

Ms. Olson grew up in a family where her father’s work took them around the world. She was born in Virginia but lived in Singapore for early elementary school and then in Qatar for 6-12th grade! These experiences have given her a love of travel and exploring new places. Ask her how many countries and cities she has visited!

She earned a BA in English Literature from the University of Pittsburgh along with a certificate in Children’s Literature. To escape Pittsburgh’s cold winters (and to be closer to her family, now in Houston) she attended Texas State for her Masters in Education. She still likes to cheer (or cry) over Pitt football and basketball games but loves Austin, her new home.
