Nancy Alanis is a native Texan who grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. Raised in a Spanish-speaking community, Nancy found her passion for languages sparked by a high school French teacher. During college she was able to deepen her study of Romance languages by living in Bordeaux, France while taking advanced coursework in both Spanish and French. After graduating from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, she taught French and Spanish for eight years in the Rio Grande Valley. Ms. Alanis is eager to “instill interest and love for Spanish language and culture” with her students at McCallum. She is a new Austin resident and looking forward to a great school year.
