Dear Families,

Parents are teachers too! You are the first, longest-lasting, most important teacher in your child’s life. That is why we at Austin ISD continually welcome your involvement and support.

We know through research that parental involvement is one of the most important factors in a student’s success. We want to work with you to provide the best school experience for your children.

How can you get involved? At home, talk to your students about their day. Ask about assignments. Your interest in how they’re doing will motivate them to want to do well in school.

Get involved in school by staying in touch with your children’s teachers and principal. Feel free to ask questions and request parent conferences. Be supportive of the exciting schoolwide activities held each year. Let your child know you are working together with the teacher and the school to help them learn every day.

Home and school working together as a team will make the school year a very successful one.

Sincerely,

Stephanie S. Elizalde
Superintendent
