Winter is coming and it’s time to get our kids bundled up.
Why it matters: Coats for Kids brings our community together to give free coats to kids each year.
Go deeper: Coats for Kids is sponsored by the Junior League of Austin in collaboration with Austin ISD.
- The program will provide more than 30,000 coats to Central Texas children this year.
Big picture: Students who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch can register to get a free coat.
- The deadline to register to get a coat is Nov. 12. Documentation is not needed.
- Coats will be delivered to campuses before winter break.
Get involved: Donate a new or gently worn coat to any Jack Browns Cleaners or give a monetary donation to the Junior League. Every $20 pays for one coat.
If you’re competitive, there’s also a campus competition for the elementary, middle and high school that donates the most coats.
- Register your campus for the Coat Drive Competition and get your team ready to win.
