Allison Tucker is a graduate of Bowie High School and a former member of the Bowie high school choirs as well as those at Covington and Small Middle Schools. She credits the AISD choir directors who taught her for helping “develop my innate love of singing and to realize my passion for teaching choral music.”
Tucker has a Bachelor of Music degree in musical education/choral studies from the University of Texas at Austin. She began her teaching career as choir director at Bailey Middle School. After four years at Bailey, she started a new adventure in the UK where she earned a Master’s degree in musicology from King’s College London. After completing her degree she returned home to Austin and became the choir director at Small Middle School.
Tucker is thrilled with her new role as McCallum Choir director. “I have attended many McCallum concerts and Cabaret performances over the years, so I have been lucky enough to witness first hand the high standards and achievements of the Fine Arts Academy programs,” she explains. Tucker looks forward to the new school year and meeting all the choir students in August.
