Heather Ramsay is the new Coordinator for the Fine Arts Academy at McCallum High providing dynamic passionate leadership. Her teaching experience includes seven years of middle school traditional and digital fine arts in Florida as well as three years of undergraduate art and education instruction at Penn State. She enjoys guiding students to achieve their best in the arts and beyond. Ms. Ramsay’s aspiration is to creatively help students, motivate and encourage students, teach students and learn from students. Her management, programmatic and service experience is due to her positions with the Ringling Museum of Art as well as within local, state and national art education associations. She brings a diverse understanding of mentorship and leadership that supports the success of her teams. Ms. Ramsay holds a BFA from the University of Georgia, MA in Arts Administration and MA in Art Education from Florida State University, and has completed coursework towards a PhD in Art Education at Penn State University. Not only does she strive for personal academic excellence, but she also has been presented a variety of accolades such as nomination for Florida Middle School Art Educator of the Year to her long ago two Scholastic Arts Gold Keys as a child. As part of the McCallum Knights’ team, Ms. Ramsay is pleased to be able to provide professional support for the students, faculty, parents, and community of the Academy. And as a new resident of Austin, she looks forward to absorbing the eclectic and rich music, food and arts culture of the city.
