Academy Showcase Night

Tuesday, October 3, 2017
McCallum Theatre, 7-9pm

On Tuesday, October 3rd from 7-9pm in the McCallum Theatre, prospective students and their families are invited to attend the McCallum Fine Art Academy’s Showcase 2017.  The evening involves performances and presentations by each of the arts majors, which includes band, choral studies, dance, cinematic arts, classical guitar, acting & technical theatre, orchestra, collaborative piano, and visual art.  The first portion of the evening will include performances by our fine arts students, and the second portion will include breakout sessions with the faculty of each major for Q&A.  If you haven’t done so already,  be sure to click on “Receive Info” to submit your information to stay informed about events, deadlines, and other important information as a prospective student.  You can also find information about the majors, applying and other events on these Academy webpages.

Academy Campus Tours

Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 10/17, 10/24, 10/31, 11/7, 11/8, 11/14, 11/15, 11/28, 11/29, 9:30-11am
Registration is required.

Current eighth and ninth grade students and parents who reside within the AISD boundary, are you interested in applying to the McCallum Fine Arts Academy? If so, this tour is for you! – first come, first served – tour group size is limited!  Tour registration is required.

Please arrive between 9:15 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. for your tour.  Enter McCallum High School at the circle on Sunshine Drive (look for the flagpoles). Parking available in north lot by Theatre.  Check in at the main office (on your left upon entry to the front of the school). Tours will start promptly at 9:30 a.m. and end at 11:00 a.m..

Preferred tour date is full? Check to see if you can make another date. If you want to be on the waiting list for a tour, email mccallumfineartsacademy@gmail.com with 1) Parent and Student names and 2) preferred tour date. We will email you if a spot becomes available – first come, first served – tour group size is limited!  Please sign up for only one spot and/or date.

Academy Audition & Portfolio Workshop Day

Registration is required.

On Saturday, December 16, 2017, the Fine Arts Academy will host a Workshop Day for prospective students/parents to learn more about the application and audition/portfolio review process.  Students will meet with faculty from their area(s) of interest to obtain valuable instruction to prepare for the audition/portfolio reviews at the beginning of the new year.  Parents are invited to participate in a special session to hear more about the Academy as well as how best to support students through the application/audition process.

Registration is required.  Registration is currently closed and will open Friday, November 3rd.  Cost: $15/ student session, parent session is free.  Seats are limited and will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.
