Camille Nix is assuming a new role at McCallum as the College and Career Counselor.

In an email to the faculty today announcing the personnel move, principal Nicole Griffith said that Nix has a wealth of prior experience that will help her excel as a college and career counselor.

She mentioned her prior work as an English teacher, specifically her experience teaching AVID students over their four years in high school. Nix also interned with the College and Career Center at Austin High while in grad school before serving as a counselor there for four years.

Nix replaces longtime college and career counselor Nancy Nitardy who worked at Mac for 21 years.

“Camille Nix is well-prepared to take on this role, and I am confident our students and families will be in great hands,” Griffith said.

Nix told MacJournalism tonight that she was excited about the new position, calling it “a dream job.”
